76 South Avenue is a luxury residential building in Bandra on a plot of 5317sq.ft.having one 3 bedroom apartment of 1420sq.ft.per floor, with the top two floors being a duplex penthouse. The apartment orients towards the west, with the living room and the two main bedrooms overlooking into the direction of the Arabian Sea. The terrace houses an infinity pool, along with an intimate entertainment zone.
In conversation with Kayzad Shroff, Founder and Co-Partner of award-winning young firm SHROFFLEoN which is based in Mumbai, where he works along with his partner – Maria Leon. SHROFFLEoN came into being in early 2011 and has managed to make quite a statement within the last decade.
The site being sloped, tucked under the white pool lies the two bedroom home. The living room, being under the extreme end, enjoys 270 degree views to the landscape, and opens up on to an outdoor sitting deck. A continuation of the materials from in to out, blur the boundaries between the outdoors and the interiors.
The client for the project was Tigi foundation, a non-profit organization started by Imran Khan and Aamir Khan, that stands for “Trust In the Goodness Inside” and provides free gentle care for cats and dogs and working towards finding safe and better homes for them through volunteer work and foster care programs.
