Update: High Court of Bombay (Goa) intervenes suo motu in the matter of Kala Academy

Goa Government has assured the High Court that no hasty decisions are proposed to be taken in the matter of demolition of the open-air auditorium at Kala Academy.

We had posted the news about Goa government planning to demolish open-air auditorium part of Kala Academy.

In a recent update, High Court of Bombay at Goa took a suo-motu cognizance of the matter and sent out a notice to Goa government. In its notice, the Hon’ble High Court has asked  Goa government and Kala Academy administration to file affidavits on the issue within a period of two weeks.

Goa Government has assured the High Court that no hasty decisions are proposed to be taken in the matter of demolition of the open-air auditorium at Kala Academy. The government also shared that, the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (GSIDC) has only invited tenders for appointment of structural auditors and, no action for demolition will be taken unless a suitable structural auditor is appointed and the report of such structural auditor is considered at the highest levels.
