V.V. Kusum Priya

V.V. Kusum Priya is an architect and writer, based in Goa, working at the intersection of design and discourse. She focuses on editorial curation and publication, with an interest in how writing can support and expand architectural thinking. She engages with projects through a critical lens, often questioning what is prioritised and what is overlooked. Through essays, photographs, sketches, and curated work, she documents and reflects on the forces shaping contemporary architecture. Her work aims to create space for clearer conversations and more open, transparent ways of engaging with design.

Kusum Priya argues that Section 39A of Goa’s 2024 Town and Country Planning Act this isn’t just a legal issue, and that it’s the erosion of an unrecognised but collectively sustained commons, and a question of what “public” really means and who benefits from the legislations surrounding this.
