Aashish Karode
Aashish Karode, Architect & Urban Designer, is a Principal with the award winning architecture studio, Design Atelier in New Delhi that has a large portfolio creating Schools, Institutions, Green Office buildings and Housing townships in various parts of India.
Overseas, Aashish worked with premier planning and design firms including Moore Iacofano Goldsman Inc., and with leading consultancy firms in India and the United States of America. He has also taught Architectural Design, Urban Design and the History of Architecture both in India and the United States.
Lately he has been engaged with integrating BIM and recent technological progress, into the traditional practice of architecture, where building crafts, nature and people remains the driving premise in the creation of contemporary Indian architecture. He believes in architectural Design as sculpture that is beautifully functional, ecologically responsible, and environmentally sustainable.
Notable buildings designed by Design Atelier recently, are Chimes, in Gurgaon- Winner Green project of the Year- Construction Week India Award and Sufi in Chandigarh- Winner Emerson Cup for the “Best Building in Emerging Cities of India”. Other favorites of the firm are PADC- Plastics Application Development Centre, Indian Oil, Panipat and a number of Schools and Campuses around the country.
