At the end of 2019, we were commissioned by the JIANGJIABAN to travel to Beijing for a preliminary site visit for their new exhibition “VOID”. The site of the exhibition is the “Black Box Theater”, a small theater on the first floor of The Dome Studio in Chaoyang District, Beijing. It is located in a creative park adjacent to the Olympic Forest Park. – TEAM_ BLDG
The client is the person in charge of Xining “no man’s land” music activity brand. They have planned artists’ performances and held music parties in many small and big music bars to spread music culture. However, because they were using other people’s venues, they always encountered various restrictions and had to tolerate and compromise in the process. So they decided to create a space with their own character, so that they could curate their label work freely. PHASE is defined as the phase position, which is the position of a wave at a particular moment in its cycle. Just as the fluctuation caused by “no man’s land” is now at a certain point, we look forward to the subsequent chain reaction.
Located in Mangalore, this 3-bedroom apartment is a contemporary take on a traditional south Indian home. The seamless open plan allows a lot of natural light to flood the living-dining-kitchen area. The earthy polished plaster on the wall, the muted tones of the fabric play off the brass set-pieces and wood accents of the furniture making this apartment space with balance and grace.
A multitude of massive frames at various levels, spacious semi-covered green terraces at all floor levels getting animated with play of light as it permeates through the geometrically patterned MS trellis at the top of the largest frame and a unique experience of varying volumes right from the entry … All this sum’s up very briefly the spatial experience of “The Shaded House”. – Shayona Consultant
