Survey

State of Architecture Practice in India

Info    |    FAQ

Hello, Architects in India,

ArchitectureLive! invites you to participate in our comprehensive nationwide survey designed to capture the realities of architectural practice in India. This research initiative seeks input from architectural professionals across the various verticals—traditional design practitioners, architects working in alternative practice in architecture, architects currently seeking employment, and architects who have transitioned to different professions.

This research is particularly significant as there are currently no formal research data documenting the contemporary state of architectural practice across India. Your participation will help fill this critical knowledge gap in our professional understanding. After analysis, the data will also be made accessible to everyone.

The survey is structured in two phases.
Phase 1 focuses on individual experiences, collecting valuable insights on current professional roles, organisational structures, experiences in traditional and alternative practices, career trajectories, professional challenges, perspectives on academic preparation, and essential skill requirements.
Phase 2 will broaden the scope to investigate industry-wide trends, financial considerations, governance frameworks, systemic challenges, and future directions for the profession.

While your participation is voluntary, it is essential for this initiative. The survey requires only 10 minutes of your time, but your input will contribute significantly to shaping the future of architectural practice in India. Thank you for adding your voice to this important professional conversation.
