Shruti Hemani
Shruti is an architect/urban designer with a passion for delivering people-centric design and running community consultation programmes. The main focus of her work has been planning, design and research in the area of sustainable cities.
Trained as an urban designer from The University of Nottingham, UK, she worked with URBED from 2004-2008 before moving back to her home country India, to work as an independent urban designer. She had been responsible for much of URBED’s work on Bradford Design Guide, Bradford Valley NDF, Bradford World Mile, Liverpool University Urban Design Framework, Nottingham Design Guide and Hucknall Town Centre Masterplan. Shruti continues to collaborate with URBED on a research ideology ‘Climax City’ and is presently an associate professor at an architecture school in Jaipur.
