Conference on Architectural Journalism

Chandigarh-based A3 Foundation, an organization promoting sustainable architecture in India and in the vicinity is organising a one-day conference on Architectural Journalism – ‘The Need and the Future of Journalism in Architecture’. The conference is being held on 21st September 2013 in the Auditorium of Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh, and is going to have eminent speakers from the field like Architect S D Sharma, Architect S S Bhatti, Architect AGK Menon, Architect Vivek Sabherwal, Prof Dr P.S.N.Rao, Architect Sangeet Sharma and Architect Apurva Bose Dutta. The conference besides highlighting various aspects of Architectural Journalism will also include an awards ceremony for various awards such as the A3f journalism award and the best teacher award constituted by the foundation.

Through this conference, the organisers are looking forward to taking the initiative in recognising the budding subject of Architectural Journalism in India. A3 Foundation is the brainchild of Dr Sangeet Sharma, a practising architect from the city. Through the medium of seminars, conferences, group discussions and other allied systems of education, the foundation is active in the multidimensional growth of the profession. The foundation confers a number of awards including the Best Journalism Award, Lifetime Achievement Award for contribution to the field of Art and architecture, Best Exhibition Award etc. Ar Apurva Bose Dutta, the convenor of the conference has been working on promoting and increasing the visibility of the subject of Architectural Journalism in India.
