As the dawn breaks over Mangalore, M. Gopakumar shares his poetic journey through its streets, where stately houses whisper tales of bygone eras, cricket fields harbor hidden delights, and the aroma of milky tea mingles with the essence of nostalgia.
Located in Mangalore, this 3-bedroom apartment is a contemporary take on a traditional south Indian home. The seamless open plan allows a lot of natural light to flood the living-dining-kitchen area. The earthy polished plaster on the wall, the muted tones of the fabric play off the brass set-pieces and wood accents of the furniture making this apartment space with balance and grace.
Blueberry House at Mangalore by GDKDesigns: The project called for a design of a private residence located on Blueberry hills in Mangalore. It was for a joint family comprising of mother, two sons with their respective families. An additional housing was required for staff of 20 people and parking for 10 cars. Strict adherence to vastu was a requirement. The scope of work was limited to preliminary design and to furnish a set of working drawings. The time taken to complete was 6 months only.
