Utopian Associates
Utopian Associates is a house of architects and designers, co-founded by two architects of Kolkata, Ar. Soumitra Majumder and Ar. Sukanta Basu in 2007. Inspired by its name, Utopian Associates believes in modern constructivism within a paradigm of metaphysics and logical manifestation of realism.
Initially started as a modest practice in the name of Utopian by Soumitra in 1996, it worked primarily on corporate interior spaces in and around Kolkata, India. Later in 2007, the present Utopian Associates was founded as a partnership company by Sukanta and Soumitra, with a broader vision.
Within a brief span of time, Utopian Associates gained its foothold in the industry and started getting repeat business from its clients.
Utopian Associates started collaborating with some leading consultants and service providers from all over India and abroad to enrich the quality of its deliverables and provide Pan-India solutions. Soon, it started cross-border operations in Bangladesh, registering as Utopian Associates Pvt. Ltd., a one of its kind 100% foreign direct investment architectural practice in Bangladesh. The journey continued in a growth curve. Presently, Utopian Associates offers services in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan.
Utopian Associates, a well-known name in corporate spaces, in its endeavor for further development, started practicing building architecture lately. Within a short span of about a year, Utopian Associates has already been recognized and awarded for designing institutional buildings, competing amongst some leading architects of India. Some large Architectural practices have already collaborated with Utopian Associates as design partners for large and complex architectural projects. Utopian is also providing architectural service to private and residential clients.
