Aarti Dhingra
Aarti is an Indian architect with a flair for ecological design and a deep interest in the visual arts.
Protégée of M.N. Ashish Ganju, she spent the formative years of her professional life living in a small Himalayan village of Kumaon, managing construction projects in remote rural areas on hilly terrain where resources, climate, working conditions, world views, and the concept of time are quite different from cities. Being conscious of the social-ecological processes linked with architecture, her work focuses on developing sustainable building practices through indigenous knowledge in the rural Himalayas of India.
She holds a Bachelors in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi, India, a dual Masters in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design from University of Stuttgart in Germany, and is currently engaged with the Building Beauty program in Sorrento, Italy.
